ISER is devoted to studying economic and social conditions in Alaska. The Alaska Legislature established the Institute of Social and Economic Research in 1961. ISER has analyzed major public policy issues in Alaska for the past 35 years. It has conducted numerous large surveys of individuals, industries, and regions.
